Patch 4.1 Has Details Available Already!

MMO Champion released the initial details on patch 4.1 already.

From a feral druid perspective, I again have a slight feeling that Blizzard developers are not entirely sure what to do with the feral spec.  The changes are relatively unexpected, and definitely fairly scarce.  With these patch notes coming on the heels of Yawning and Alaron leaving the game and stating how dissatisfied they are with the state of feral dps, the changes that have been revealed so far are….. somewhat under-whelming.  The changes detailed buff Mangle and Maul in bear form, and nerf Thrash to compensate.  There is no mention in the druid notes of a better AoE solution for cat form, and no mention of reducing our reliance on Shred or bringing Ferocious Bite back to viability for PvE.  Instead, bear tanks get a buff to their single target dps/threat, which was probably the strongest aspect of bear tanks.  An unexpected change, hopefully we will see some further development to the class as more patch notes become available.

Leatherworking recipes are being tweaked to reduce agility and secondary stats but to include a socket and useful socket bonus (it’s only 10 agility, but you will almost certainly meet the requirement to obtain it).  Zul’Gurub and Zul’Aman are both returning, which brings a nice wave of nostalgia for many players.  Finally, I did enjoy the comment from Boubuoille regarding warlock changes:

I’ll keep my eyes open for news (good or bad) regarding druids as more patch notes are released.
